William Ruto declared winner of Kenyan presidential election

Deputy president Dr William Ruto was today declared president elect in the just concluded 9th August general elections 

William Ruto has won Kenya Presidential election as Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC), declared him winner 

Chairman of Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC), Wafula Chebukati announced that Dr William Ruto who ran on a United Democratic Alliance party ticket (UDA), got 7,176,141 votes 

His closest rival the former Prime Minister Ralia Odinga who ran on Forum for the Restoration of Democracy party, one Kenya party followed closely with 6,942,930 votes 

William Ruto, who spoke at the Bomas of Kenya after the announcement by Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC), chairman Wafula Chebukati on Monday, said his administration will work in tandem with the opposition in their task of oversighting the executive
