Sanwo Olu statement reads: "Today, we signed Lagos State’s 2026 Budget of Shared Prosperity into law. It is a ₦4.444 trillion plan, passed by the House of Assembly and now ready for implementation.
"This budget is about strengthening how we govern and keeping Lagos competitive. It is built on inclusion. No matter where you live or what you do, you should feel the impact.
"We are investing in schools, building and upgrading healthcare facilities, improving security, and delivering practical interventions that raise the quality of life across the state.
"We are entering the year with real challenges. The Balogun Market fire and the difficult but necessary work along the Ebute Metta coastline remind us why infrastructure and service delivery must keep improving. This budget gives us the capacity to respond better and prepare Lagos for growth.
"In 2026, our focus is to renew infrastructure, expand transport, support agriculture, back MSMEs, create jobs, and grow the economy in a way that benefits more people. We will spend responsibly, and ensure value for money.
