According to the commissioner, contractors are awarded projects because they have been assessed and found technically qualified and capable of executing the work. He maintained that there is no justification for contractors to remain absent from their project sites after securing government contracts.
“When you are given a contract, it is because you have been found capable and technically qualified, so there is absolutely no reason why a contractor should stay away from a project site,” he said.
“We have been engaging the relevant government agencies and contractors to resolve issues affecting project execution and ensure that work continues. The contractors handling the road projects mentioned are also on site,” he said.
